OLYMPIC SKIER CHEMMY ALCOTT COMPLETES LINE-UP OF CELEB ON THE DANCING ON ICE TOUR
Wed 29 February 12
Heidi Range
Chico
Sam Attwater

Skating legends Jayne Torvill & Christopher Dean will embark on a sixth live UK tour of Dancing on Ice this April, including four dates at Capital FM Arena Nottingham on 20 – 22 April 2012.

Chemmy Alcott is the final celebrity to be confirmed to join the Dancing on Ice Live Tour 2012. Other celebrities confirmed for this year’s tour are Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter, actress Jennifer Ellison, Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment, Emmerdale soap star Matthew Wolfenden, Sugababe Heidi Range, singer Chico and reigning Dancing on Ice champion and actor Sam Attwater.

Best known for being Britain’s number one skier for a record seven years, Chemmy Alcott is no stranger to performing at speed in cold conditions. Having competed in three Winter Olympic Games and six FIS World Championships, the determination and courageousness she has developed through sport has been transferred to the ice in this year’s Dancing on Ice 2012 series. Despite having suffered terrifying injuries including a broken neck and shattered leg, Chemmy has continued to impress the judges and audiences alike with the help of skating partner Sean Rice.

Jorgie Porter and Jennifer Ellison are also confirmed to join the Dancing on Ice Live Tour 2012 line-up. Other celebs confirmed for the tour are Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment, Emmerdale soap star Matthew Wolfenden, Sugababe Heidi Range, singer Chico and reigning Dancing on Ice champion and actor Sam Attwater.

Jorgie Porter is famous for playing Theresa McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, Hollyoaks. Having starred in the popular teen soap opera since 2008, this is Jorgie’s first step away from the Chester-based show and she has proved herself to be one of the hottest stars of Dancing on Ice 2012. With skating partner Matt Evers, Jorgie has hit the top of the leader board with some of the highest marks of the series and wowed both the judges and TV audiences with her fearless routines, elegant performances and daring routines. Jorgie is the hot favourite to win the ITV1 show.

Jennifer Ellison first shot to fame playing Emily Shadwick in Merseyside-based soap opera Brookside from 1998 to 2003, but managed to break away from the stigma that such shows usually place on soap actors by winning the first series of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and then appearing in the film ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘Chicago’ before becoming a judge on ‘Dirty Dancing: The Time of Your Life’. After some of the most dramatic routines of the series, Jennifer and her partner Daniel Whiston have impressed the judges and the audiences week after week while making her one of the favourite celebrities taking part in this year’s series.

Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment is famous for playing Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street and Darren in The Royle Family. Andy won a British Soap Award in 2003 for Best Comedy Performance and continues to use his natural comedic skills on the ice. Proving a favourite with the audiences and judges alike, he will make a great addition to the star-studded and exciting live shows.

Matthew Wolfenden is famous for playing David Metcalfe in Emmerdale, the Yorkshire-based ITV1 soap. He is used to performing in front of cameras and audiences, and has now managed to impress the TV judging panel with his skating partner Nina Ulanova and win some of the highest scores of the current series, quickly becoming one of the show’s frontrunners to win.

Sugababes singer Heidi Range has performed at some of the UK’s biggest music venues and, with skating partner Andrei Lipanov, her winning smile and increasing confidence gained her high scores on the ITV1 show every Sunday night.

Former X Factor contestant Chico is no stranger to performing in front of millions of people on television and is now proving to be one of the TV audience and judges favourites. Consistently climbing higher up the leader board each week, Chico and his skating partner Jodeyne Higgins have proved that he is as good on the ice, as he is on the stage.

Current reigning Dancing On Ice champion and Ex-EastEnders actor, Sam Attwater displayed some of the most natural ability on the ice in the 2011 ITV1 series and live tour, working hard during each performance to impress the judging panel. Sam consistently pushed himself to achieve higher scores and more complex moves on the ice alongside his skating partner Brianne Delcourt.
All of the celebrities will be trained and choreographed by Torvill & Dean, who will also perform routines choreographed exclusively for the live tour.
