Download returns to Donington Park between Friday 8 and Sunday 10 June 2012 to celebrate their 10th Anniversary with their biggest line up to date. Metallica and Black Sabbath have both been announced as headline acts for next summer’s event.
Metallica will take to the stage on Saturday 9th June, with an exclusive UK performance of their best selling, number one album Metallica, more commonly known simply as ‘The Black Album’.
Co-founder and drummer Lars Ulrich says “Six years is way toooo long to be away from the hallowed grounds of Donington Park. We are beyond psyched and feel privileged to come back once again to soak up the energy and vibe of the most legendary of festival sites.”
On Sunday 10 June the original line-up of Black Sabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Lommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward – have confirmed they will return to their roots to headline the festival stage.
Answering the prayers of millions of music fans worldwide who have been anticipating their highly speculated comeback, the legendary rock band’s appearance at Download will be Black Sabbath’s only UK festival appearance next year.
